This was highlighted when Mount Juliet hosted top golf players such as Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia and Pádraig Harrington for the WGC American Express Golf Championship in September of 2002 and again in 2004.
Set in a world of its own, on lush parkland in the south east of Ireland, the course is both captivating and memorable. Tiger Woods' declaration that Mount Juliet presented "perfect fairways... and the best greens we have putted on all year" was a rich tribute to the stature of Ireland's leading championship parkland golf course. With some slight extensions and new features since opening, Mount Juliet Golf Course as improved on an already outstanding layout to continue the pursuit of golfing excellence.
In 2001, Gowran Park developed this unique 18 hole golf course to complement its renowned race meetings. With beautifully manicured greens, no trip to Ireland's Sunny South East would be complete without a round of golf here.
Set in the beautiful green countryside of the South East, Carlow Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course laid out in a former wild deer park attached to the former Bruen Estate.
The course has a sandy subsoil, which is links-like with undulating terrain, numerous elevated trees, several excellent doglegs and small slick putting surfaces. There are many long par-fours and the 16th, a very demanding two-shotter, played through a tunnel-like valley, has been noted by Christy O’Connor Senior, as the best 16th hole in Ireland.
