Designed by Jack Nicklaus, Mount Juliet golf course first opened in 1991 with a friendly match between Jack Nicklaus and Christy O'Connor Snr. Since then the course has established itself as a premier venue for top professional and leisure golfers from around the world. This was highlighted when Mount Juliet hosted top golf players such as Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia and Pádraig Harrington for the WGC American Express Golf Championship in September of 2002 and again in 2004.
Set in a world of its own, on lush parkland in the south east of Ireland, the course is both captivating and memorable. Tiger Woods' declaration that Mount Juliet presented "perfect fairways... and the best greens we have putted on all year" was a rich tribute to the stature of Ireland's leading championship parkland golf course. With some slight extensions and new features since opening, Mount Juliet Golf Course as improved on an already outstanding layout to continue the pursuit of golfing excellence.

In 2001, Gowran Park developed this unique 18 hole golf course to complement its renowned race meetings. The course meanders in and around 130 acres with 5 holes within the racecourse boundary and the remainder in the mature woodland and lake settings of the Annaly Estate. With the magnificent backdrop of the Blackstairs Mountains this par 71, 18 hole golf course provides an excellent test for the low handicap golfer whilst also being very enjoyable for the middle to high handicappers.
Set in the beautiful green countryside of the South East, Carlow Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course laid out in a former wild deer park attached to the former Bruen Estate.
The course has a sandy subsoil, which is links-like with undulating terrain, numerous elevated trees, several excellent doglegs and small slick putting surfaces. There are many long par-fours and the 16th, a very demanding two-shotter, played through a tunnel-like valley, has been noted by Christy O’Connor Senior, as the best 16th hole in Ireland.
